So, just got home. Noticed a spot on the drive... stuck my head under the truck to see this... WTF!?! Anyone got any pointers. It kinda looks like coolant. Oil leave is fine

Also notice the pulley in the second video. Looks like there is melted belt matieral on it???

The packing in the front of the waterpump is shot or the seal from waterpump to block. Either way you need a waterpump. And the build up on the pulley suggests that you should replace that too its cheap. Id get it fixed asap like yesterday! But it's not a new engine or anything like that. Just did a waterpump, idler, tensioner and belt it was under $250 in parts.

Yeah I know what you mean. Atleast it's an easy ish fix. I'd also order another thermostat with gasket too so while ur in there you don't have to worry about having to lose all your coolant again because the t stat started leaking. I hate doin stuff twice lol. Atleast it's a cheap fix. I had cam and lifter failure last month. [emoji849] That was an I'm gonna burn you to the ground moment hahaha. I went lumpy cam and am happy again.

Man I hope to get rid of this truck before I run into that issue. *knock on wood*

I did a coolant flush about 8 months ago. And got the right OAT coolant. (2012 ram).

Just really not what I wanted to be doing this weekend. Atleast you got a nice cam out the deal... I just get a working truck again lol

Yup WP would be my guess as well. 2012, do you know if that is HOAT? I think oat didn't come til 2014. I forget to be honest, don't mix use whatever came with it. I'm sure you are right, maybe it was oat.

I don't remember either. I just remember some don't play nice. I'd hate to run into that nonsense.

I'd pull some hoses look for gel, check around thermostat, take but 4 minutes. As @Hemi395 can attest it is very hard to get drivers side block plug off, meaning full flush is very hard. Can you explain your flush procedure 8 mos ago? When you get the pump off, take a pic of the rim if you don't mind. If you see gel, rmi 25 man, before you flush drive 500 miles watch coolant temp on evic. This will take gel and put it in overflow, then you dump it. Going forward, your truck will be back to normal, but I'd flush a couple times and go back to hoat, double check that.

My 2012 takes HOAT. Just check the owners manual and it will say what your specific truck needs.

I was just about to say do the hoses and clamps while you’re at it if they haven’t been replaced before. It’s just the complete job and then the only final possible failures left are the radiator and the heater core. Plus, everything is already half disconnected when you replace the water pump and thermostat.

Ok guys. Sorry for the late replies. I posted this at like 11:30pm last night. So had to hit the sack.

I can confirm I used the correct coolant. Which is HOAT (thank God). I still have a gallon jug of the Zerox G-5 or whatever I the garage.

Regarding how I flushed last time. I did not use the drain in the block. I just removed the thermostat. And pushed out the old crap via a radiator hose into a bucket, running the truck. While constantly flowing distilled water through the system.

Yall have been so helpful with the past couple issues on my truck. So I'm super thankful.

I'm gonna go pick up a new pump today, along with a belt, tensioner, and what I believe is the udler pulley. But will double check before buying.

Thats great news you used the HOAT coolant. Disregard my post about the OAT coolant, just do a radiator drain and fill and you'll be good with coolant.

Good call on replacing the tensioner and idler pulleys while you're in there

Make sure when you flush/fill the system you have the heat on so that the new coolant goes through the heater core as well.

I must admit. I'm kinda excited to do this lol. Haven't really done anything worth while on her for a while now

10-4 Sir! I did do this last time also.

Good news is. Freaking coolant looks awesome! (Dont hate on my DOT approved coolant vessel) hahaha.

I do have pets and such. So anything that is spilled will get a good kitty litter dousing. And pressure washing after im donedcddf06d5d4c4b4927a632ae4754207a.jpg

Oh, and while I'm here. This is an idler pulley right? Do we have more than one?
