SuperChips .....Question?

Hey guys,

I have the old SC (7314) tuner that has been vin locked for years now...on the truck. Question is? I have the NEW 3865 tuner and what to load it up! Should I go to the dealer and have the stock flash put back on the truck? or just load the NEW tuner over the old on?

If the one you have is locked, can't you just use it to reset to stock and start from scratch with the 3865? Resetting to stock will unlock the old tuner

If the old one is loaded already, it should be vin locked to your truck. Just connet the old one, load the stock tune and load the new tuner.

Try to connet the old one...and won't let me do anything That is the problem I'm having. I dont have the bill of sale for the old one, SC was going to charge me $200 to fix it....got a NEW one for $175

I have not plug the NEW one up, don't what to mess anything up with it having the old SC tuner in it already.

That is the question...will the NEW SC over ride the old SC program and load with no problems?

Far as I would say, it should. Unless it recognizes the tune. It will just save what you have now as the stock tune

You can plug the new one in and have it read the vehicle and see what it says. I doubt it will hurt anything. It wont vin lock until you change something

That's what I'm thinking, it will just save the old tune as the stock tune and load up.

Well, just my luck....as nothing has gone right with the truck this week It would not work, picked up the truck dose not have a stock tune and told me to call SC ....pissed! Looks like I'll have to go to the dealer and get a stock tune flashed back on the PCM.
