If fuel dilution is a problem I wouldn't even worry about a bypass filter set up. I'd just go with a good filter whether it's fleetguard or something else and make sure to change you're oil in a timely OCI. A well maintained diesel will basically outlast the body and frame it's hauling around. My dad had a navstar diesel, pulled a 40 ft Tri axle 5th wheeler from Ohio to AZ and back every year plus worked part time delivering all kinds of trailers. At 200k he had the pan dropped to check the rods and mains and they just put it back together and told him run it another 200k. In the process of all this he had a hyper max turbo installed. The only thing he ever ran in it was Pennzoil conventional diesel oil. I don't know if they still even make it anymore because he bought it straight from distributer.View attachment 116267 Thanks for all the questions & small talk about the by-pass kit.
No use getting too fired up!
Like I posted: Around the 25K mile mark, I will either install one or not.
I have A lot of time & miles to travel before that time comes.
I honestly feel the Fleetguard Stratapore/Royal Purple Filters will do a more then outstanding job. The need for a by-pass unit might be way overkill.
From what I have read this motor has more of a problem with Fuel dilution compared to soot.
It would be interesting to find out if this Very Popular Stratapore filter was created with synthetic media.
Right now I’m focused on oil selection & fuel Additives & towing mods.
