Why are there so few 6’4 long beds out there?

This is hilarious.

But truthfully, parking in Miami Beach with a standard or long bed on a crew cab is impossible. Not because someone can’t park or drive, but because the space just doesn’t exist lol. If I was somewhere in the country, it would be a no brainer.

My 13 quadcab is 6.4 and crewcabs are shorter.I didnt need a bigger cab and I prefer shorter back doors and a little longer bed.It still is a bit too short for most of what I haul tho.I never k new I could enjoy a truck as much as the Ram and Ive owned other makes.

Don’t think they come with the 8’ bed as an option. Except the regular cab ones.

Only the HD trucks w/Crew Cab get the 8' bed. Mine is a 2500. That's also my black Fiat 500 Abarth in the picture.

Funny, I traded my maroon '09 Ram 1500 QC 5.7 w/6'4" bed when I bought the Abarth, then, 2 years later, traded the Abarth in to buy the '17 Ram 2500 CCLB. I miss having three pedals, but, that thing was gonna get me killed or arrested or both.

A lot of people park their trucks in a garage and supposedly the crew cabs with 6-4 beds won’t fit in most garages. Besides, a lot of half-ton owners don’t need that much bed room and these trucks are long enough as it is for parking places.

I have what some call the mid bed, 6‘4“ box crew cab eight speed with 3.92 rear axle. There are more of these out there than you think. I found two on the same used truck lot in the same week. Most would consider this a short bed if it wasn’t for the 5’7” bed. And I agree about the garage fit..... I guarantee you mine will not fit in a standard garage. That said neither will I.....I live in the country and have a 32 foot long carport.

Do they offer the 1500 reg cab with an 8 footer. My son has an old 2004 chevy with a reg cab and 8ft bed with a 6cyl. Loved it for moving hay for the mini horses.

Nor as of yet in the new body style I don’t think but you can get that 2019 classic in a regular cab 8-foot bed.

Bang on. Seems to me that parking spaces have been getting shorter and narrower in the cities, with the exception of Costco. They're the only lots with space. But yeah, if living out of town then go for as big as you feel you need as space isn't an issue.

I just purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 so have not researched earlier years. In 2019, there were basically two frame and running gear sizes produced for the 1500, a 120.5 inch wheelbase and a 140.5 wheelbase. The 120.5 inch wheelbase only comes with a standard cab. The 140.5 inch wheelbase offers two combinations, the quad cab with the 6 ft 4 in box or the crew cab with the 5 ft 7 in box. There is a standard cab 140.5 inch wheelbase version with an 8 ft bed, but I have never seen one. However, it is cheaper to only have to produce two wheelbase sizes and make all cab/box sizes fit them.

I think most people like myself know what they want but it's not necessarily available on the lot I wanted a crew cab warlock in white with a 5.7 Hemi all that was available was the a black quad cab unless I wanted to settle for the V6. I fit perfectly in the back seat with a 6.3 salesman in the front seat and I love black but knew it would be a ***** to keep clean

my 15 longhorn crew has the 6.4 bed and 3.21's. I searched high and low for nearly 2 years for a 17/18 sport crew with the 6.4 bed, 3.92's white, blue streak or flame red and leather. it was near impossible. I settled on and decided to keep the longhorn only because I couldn't find what I wanted in a sport and it has super low km (miles lol). the issue where I am in Ontario Canada is that dealers don't order them that way. if they don't order them that way, no discounts. no way in hell I was paying near full msrp on a special ordered truck. many western province dealers (british columbia and alberta) order them like that but the shipping nulls the discounts.
even recently, I've tried finding a clear out deal on a 19 with the same config (sport models are still available in Canada) ... hens teeth

I had a 2012 1500 Quad Cab with the 6ft 4in bed and I had installed a hard folding tonneau so when I ordered a 2016 2500 crew cab I got the 6ft 4in box so I could install my tonneau on it

I’ve got a 2015 1500 sport crew cab 6’4” box. I’ve had people in traffic ask if it’s a 6 footer crew cab and one guy asked if it was for sale!

Doesn’t fit....anywhere, garage parking stalls anywhere.

Fits a quad in the back.

Great truck.
