View attachment 218268 I have that D1 blower on my 19 5.7,my past and current issues with procharger usually revolves around belts. But over spinning and cooking the D1? I see a F1c in your future it can handle 14 before belts start shredding. But what did you do with the trans
14lbs I assume you mean? And I haven’t heard of any limitations of the D1 yet. Since I’m getting an Overdriven damper pulley, that will allow a greater surface area upper pulley to be used and not have the belt slip as much.

No trans work yet.

My vette builder is a procharger dealer and I’ve heard him mentioning how over spinning near 62k results in frequent rebuilds but by the time he’s done explaining all the math other then the 1/2” inlet outlet size difference the D1 and F1c are close .I understand that the extra heat,= less hp Which is why we opted to use a cry02 chiller with a nitrous bottle. At 14 lbs irs a huge difference in IATs.He talked me into twin s/c now as soon as the widebody kit is done and painted. As soon as all this bs is over I’m getting a trans tune for the ram so the Dyno pulls go smoother for the tuner. Also I have Alky **** systems on the vette and one using boost juice on my tuned Audi so the truck is getting one before the final tune so any octane issues won’t matter.

Drop in pistons and rods are a must for the 6.4 motor also. **** is an expensive hobby. Especially if you're trying to keep up with the Jones's! :)
Believe me, I love to see sweets mods but one thing that really kills me about "modern" muscle both car and truck is the cost and the weight of the vehicles.

A good illustration of what I mean is this video:

The new Challenger has a huge power advantage and is extremely expensive. The Dart was considered a cheap car in its day with a seat and steering wheel for its base model. You can still score a buildable dart for a few grand now a days. Finding a original 340 engine can be a challenge but with selecting the right block you can OVERBORE a LA 318 to 4.04, the 340 bore. The crank and rods remain the same. Upgraded heads, 11:1 compression and a stout cam you are going racing on the cheap. Combine that with a 3300 lbs car, 4.10:1 gears and a prepped Torqueflight and proper converter you see what this combination is capable of.
To me this has always been the soul of weekender drag racing. Not about what you buy, it is what you build.

I do not disagree with anything that you wrote. HOWEVER... in the video, we need to compare apples to apples. The Hellcat driver obviously had no idea what he was doing. He stumbled badly off the line. Second: an auto transmission Hellcat would have trounced that Demon. Even after all the incompetence off the line for the Hellcat driver, he dam near caught up to him.

What I'm talking about is the idea you have to spend big money to be competitive at the drag strip. The answer is NO.
I would say the 340 Dart is making in the range of 350hp. Half what a HellCat makes. The difference here is the Dart only weights 3300lbs. That is over 1000 lbs less and that is a heck of a weight advantage. Couple that with a 4.10:1 rear end ratio and getting the tires to bite at launch and that is a lot of bang for the buck.

Just a quick update! I got in an Innovators West Inc 16% Damper pulley in, should be installed tomorrow and will see how much more boost we will be making!

So I got the truck back, making 560whp. But I’m still only making 7-8psi boost with the 16% OD pulley. Any idea why that would be?

What else did they change to get another 70whp at the same boost levels?

Boost controller? You can ramp boost in and bleed off on the top end similar to a wastegate.

If it's a good tuner, they probably left a lot of safety margin in the fuel/air ratio until he had all of the goodies finished up, then dialed it in for power.

Turns out the tuner just is garbage. They also dented my door and did a few other things the incorrect way. I’ll be getting a retune from flyin Ryan pretty soon.
