I only have one cat, you just need a measurement up to the cat, or all the way to the headers? I can do that soon, there is snow all over the driveway so once that gets cleaned up I will measure

Ok, so what you have now is headers to a Y pipe to a Cat to a straight pipe to a muffler to a single outlet tailpipe? eliminate the y pipe. then hi flow cats to straight pipe to xpipe mufflers to tailpipe. hi flow cats are reasonably priced, let me see what i can do for you.

I need to take a look under there but the weather sucks so I will have to do it later. I'm pretty sure it is the headers --> y pipe --> small straight pipe --> cat --> straight pipe --> muffler --> single exhaust

I need to buy another cat converter? ****.

yea, most likely. best measure from the downward bend of the Y pip to the end of the exhaust not including the tip.

I'm going to blow at least a grand on this after labor fees.........I'll check it out later. Hopefully I have two cats, but I don't think I do.

If I, in fact, do need a cat, I will probably buy this stuff in parts so I don't blow my whole wallet on it right off the bat. But we will have to see what the total price comes to....

I wanted to go with a dual exhaust cause I liked the look of that. Then after I posted this thread, Duane chimed in and I realized I could get parts at a much lower cost than what the body shop was originally offering me.

Seems like this is a big PITA figuring it out and you're right, it isn't worth all the money just for an extra pipe. I'm better off just going for the original Borla xr-1 (round) that I was looking at and I'll just get the piping from Duane (82 inches) and install it with my neighbor and call it a friggin day..

I'll save my cash for the double din silver :D

still would dump it or just get a cutout and put the money else where in mods

Is there a difference between dumping it and having the exhaust pipe where it is currently at now? I thought that was essentially the same thing..

If I got a cutout, I'm not sure what muffler I would get because truckin said the cutout and the muffler are the same tone..so no point in doing both..

If you want duals then just bring it to a muffler shop. I got duals on my old truck and from the muffler back they ran a y pipe to straight out the back. It was only $190 for all the pipes and y pipe so just do that and bring them the muffler and the tips you want. Shouldn't be any more than $350 for all that stuff and having them weld it up.

They wanted 220 for bending one pipe, they are going to **** me when it comes to labor, plus we already debated about the y pipe thing lol

Maybe I'll do a stock muffler with a cutout (so I can be quiet and then super loud)?

Shop around for an exhaust shop. They clearly are overcharging you. The exhaust on my truck is dumped and this is what it looks like

I'm diggin the cutout idea, and I can get a stock muffler so when I come home at 2am I don't have to wake everyone up :D

So it sounds like

1. stock muffler
2. a raceland cutout (I'm more used to that set-up and wiring style)
3. some piping (maybe 70 inches worth, and I'll re-use my exxhaust tip)

I know the stock mufflers are huge so I probably won't need the full 82 inches of piping.

If you need to replace the muffler anyway, at least go with an aftermarket turbo muffler (turbo being the style of muffler, not the use). They are relatively the same tone as the stock one, but flow a lot better. As for cutouts, we have a special deal with Badlanz on the site for our customers only, so you may want to check it out before deciding, and you can put a dump on the end of it and the end of the muffler...could probably do the entire deal for around $300 or so.
