TBN = Total Base Number
TAN = Total Acid Number

Gotcha. So that I think is an extra charge that you request for right?
I do 85% city driving if that has anything to do with it.

TBN is the oils resistance to acid so it's basically how much life is left in the oil. TAN is how much acid is in the oil. TAN you want as low as possible, TBN decreases as mileage and use increases.

TBN is an additional $10 from Blackstone. Don't know what TAN costs...

Ok so I will go only 7500 to 8000 this time and run another sample and see how it goes.
Thanks for the input guys.

I would not sweat the Aluminum wear. I had three OCI's of PUP 0W-40 at 5K mile intervals and it trends the same as your last analysis had I taken it out the same amount of mileage. I agree with the others to throttle back to 7.5K OCI just due to the shearing the oil seems to have going out any farther.

Yes, for sure City driving could have a ton to do with this! In fact, I think you should drive in tow haul, or change your shift points. Tan is ten bucks as well. I want to know what is causing the wear, my bet is that your TAN level was too high and causes corrosion. Nothing major, do not sweat it, but I would want to know what is going on. Good news, it appears you oil is strong for 7500 miles. Now, is it that the mds is kicking on in third gear and dumping fuel into the oil causing tan to be high? Possible, that is why I was to see TAN and TBN at 7500 miles. With TAN and TBN at 7500 miles it will tell a more complete story.

My mds does come on a lot. I put it in tow haul when I think about it. I wish it would stay on instead of turning off every time you turn the engine off.
My truck is bone stock besides a AEM dry flow filter and Flowmaster 50 Series HD.

Yeah, I just train myself because I am in city 24.7 as well. And the proof it works is I have <.5 fuel in my oil and you have 1. and 1.5 fuel in your oil, that is why I say what I say. I go 10k miles and 2 years on my oci as well. Even though that isn't a ton of fuel, it is enough when added to the wear numbers for the extra 2k miles that suggests the TAN level could be in play. Even if you don't keep getting uoa's after this, the next couple are important imo, now that you have found something. For the last 6 years it is second nature to me, I turn key and press TH button, every time I start the truck. If you can remember to press TH every time, maybe you will have next to zero fuel in your oil, and you can teach the entire forum something, and if that is the case and that corrects Tan in theory you could even go back to 10k oil changes.

LOL, there is a lot of ifs there, but TAN would be worth it. Please follow up with us when you get the next one, very interesting.

Here is my last report. At 10,500 miles looks like the Red Line is holding it's own.

Looks decent, iron 27 copper 40. However, I find it funny they recommended a longer oci but no tbn.

I have a 2004 Ram Hemi with a mere 91,000 miles on it. I have used Quaker State Ultimate Durability since new and very happy with the results. Engine runs smooth with no Hemi tick. The important thing to do is change the oil on a regular basis and I use Mopar oil filters. You can pay a lot more for oil but why should you? QSUD meets all the specs for the Hemi engine, give it a try. I like the way it pours.

IMO, that's alot of miles on an oil change for a new engine.
