Rad should sit straight up and down,so you might want to look it over close and make sure the bottom is in place.
It's definitely a body bolt of some sort as it's not an engine or exhaust manifold bolt.Are you sure you have all the airbox bolts back in place,as it sure looks like it could be one of them.

Radiator went right in and is sitting in the mounts. It's not tipped much, unless theres some rubbers that go on the top where it bolts in.

Its maybe 1 inch tipped forward. I noticed it while hooking up the lower rad hose.

It was more noticeable without the shroud and E-fan, and from the top, it looks straight up and down.

Yeah, had 4 bolts for the airbox, 2 inside the fender and 2 under the curve of the wheel opening.

The shroud and e-fan also went in with no issue as well.

Ya know, that might be an optical illusion, just remembered the engine is tipped down in the rear. So, it might be that's what makes it looks tipped.

Combine that with my lazy eye, and............lol

Ok, ags, reservoir, airbox are on. Rad petcock is closed. Ready to fill with coolant.


I left the engine cover off, hopefully no leaks, but wanna look things over.

Time to mix up some coolant.

Spin it over for a couple seconds in clear flood mode /foot to the floor just to help it build oil pressure,as it's been a few days since you primed the oiling system. After that i'll lay odds as long as you have everything hooked up she'll fire right up and run good almost instantly

Ok, so key to run a couple times to prime fuel rails.

Key to run (no foot on brake) gas pedal to floor and let off 3 times, key to off, open and close drivers door, start

Explain the clear flood mode, I will do that before I start it after throttle relearn, or before?

That's where you hold the gas pedal to the floor while cranking it over,it won't start,but it'll prime the oil system,you only need to do it for maybe 10 to 15 seconds,then start it. I'd do the throttle relearn first though

Ok guys, she started up!

However, I had a service shifter message and a check engine light.

Misfire P0301, sh*t.

It did not seem to be running bad, so I reset the codes and started it again.

This time, P0201 injector circuit open x3

Giving a little gas, I can feel it but silghtly.

Reset codes, and tried once more, same same.

Not sure what to do next.

BTW, 57 psi oil pressure

Go back over the electrical connections especially the injectors,i'd pull the connectors and make sure you don't have a bent pin,which could of happened when you were cleaning the injectors.

I did pull that connector apart and the injector pins looked straight.

I had one hell of a time with the harness in that area getting enough slack to hook up the plug on the back of the alternator.

I will take a look after work tonight.

As good as you have your engine looking I would just leave the cover off, it took me a little while to get used to mine being off, but like the look now.

Have the cover all cleaned.

I gotta do some checking, had a P0301, now P201.

Had trouble getting enough slack in the harness to plug in the alternator, I'm not sure why.

Hope its just a bad injector, but they worked when I cleaned them. Hope it's an easy find at any rate.

Not sure where my test light went, hello Amazon.

They never just start up and run 100% from the days I spent at a buddies machine shop. He just did the boring but the shop next door did most of the installs. The scary part of over is started and ran, sweet. test injector circuit with multi meter if you cant find the bad spot

It was such a kick in the nuts when it happened.

curious for those with a bit more technical knowledge...is there a benefit to the 20-820 vs the 20-500 RP filters? id imagine the material is the same, but the 820 is shorter but much fatter/wider. i bought 2 of each at the local store yesterday. ive used the 20-500 for quite a bit. but have read baout the 820. anyone have a preference, and why? thx in advance.

Some folks with the 2500/6.4 liter couldn't use the Royal Purple 20-820 due to lower coolant hose(s)wouldn't allow room for fitment and they opted for the Royal Purple 20-500.

As for the for fitment of the Royal Purple 20-820 on the 4th Gen RAM 1500 after 2012, this filter will fit with a little wrangling it up into place.

Some folks have fitment issues for reasons that they have come across(possibly tight tolerance(s)due to the Electric Power Steering Assist and the added oil heat exchanger)that isn't allowing easy fitment ... with my 2017/5.7 liter/ZF 8 Speed/Express, I had no issues using the "larger" Royal Purple 20-820 oil filter.

Well, Ed I hope you get your minor issues resolved.

However, on another note, I have an oil catch can(brand new/still in the box), that I never put on my truck due to my miss fortunate accident ...

I asked my older brother if he would like to have it and install it on his 2012 RAM 1500/5.7 liter ... his reply: ... "no, I don't believe in snake oil type crap" ... wth ...

So, if you want it, you can have it ... and that's all I have left to offer, lol!
