I hate to make another thread concerning the issue but is the Mopar 68163849AB the coolant that they put in these late model 1500’s? Manual says it’s the 10 year/150,000 mile formula that meets the FCA MS-90032. Or well, that’s not referring to the paper manual in my truck, this is referring to the PDF manual on the Mopar App I have. I found the stuff on Amazon but it says it’s MS-12106.

Also found it here at Moparpartscorp but the bottle looks different and from what I can see it’s the same part number and MS number. 372ab525956f28143864e73d9eaffea0.jpg

Your top jug is what come in my 2017!
I bought a jug just to have on hand.

Wish I could find out who supplies Mopar with this coolant.
All I can come up with is CCI Manufacturing!

(For what it's worth): PGL coolant has shown to have almost identical chemistry. (According to the PDS)

That's a good question. I know the overflow bottle on my 2017 Ram 1500 pentastar basically has nothing in it. I'm not sure even the tip of the dipstick is getting wet. That's what she said..

The Parafull is the name of the Fiat OAT coolant. Unfortunately Fiat's OAT coolant was the same color as the Mopar HOAT coolant.
If the jug says it's good for 10 years is the OAT coolant, HOAT is only 5 years

I just decided to check mine this morning for the first time in my girlfriend’s driveway and the level was barely on the stick.... hopefully it’s because her driveway has a downward slant to the street so maybe it was because the front of the truck was higher than the rear. I drove it home so here in a minute I’ll go out and check it again with it being warm.

So in other words, even though that bottle of antifreeze that says Parafull on it is in fact the OAT formula, but the same color as the older, HOAT formula? I guess it wouldn’t matter since it’s the same stuff but I think I’ll just stick with the other that is the same color just to not arise suspicion if I have to make a trip to the dealer. The right-colored OAT stuff is purple, ain’t it? I’m pretty sure from the trace of coolant I saw on the stick this morning was purple.

This is what I got from the dealership few months ago for my 18 Ram 1500.

I know, stupid question but that’s what the dude behind the parts counter handed you? If you don’t mind me asking, how much was it there at the dealer? I can get that off Amazon for about 23 bucks so if it’s that much cheaper, I could make a trip to the dealer next time I’m down there.

Yeah I’m sure there’s probably a cheaper, maybe even better aftermarket alternative but I think in my situation, I’m just gonna get me a jug of that since it has the big fancy M on it...[emoji41]

He said it's been superseded. I paid around $23 or $24 with taxes.

I'm sure there are better alternatives but I would worry about incompatibilities with the factory coolant.

If ever flushed or completely changed is when I would look into a better product.

Not sure of the color of the "new" stuff but it sounds like your coolant hasn't pulled the chameleon trick on you yet. It will start off purple and will eventually turn to more of a rose color when the truck is cold. Then once it warms up it's back to purple. Multiple Mopar forums have posts on this happening (Charger, Challenger, Jeep, etc). It is more easily seen on vehicles that use a degas bottle.

I've noticed cold - it's some what purple as it warms & heats up it changes to a reddish orange color.

It might could have, I just haven’t noticed.

That's because the new OAT stuff is really close to modern dexcrap, basically a dexclone. PGL would work as it's also a dexclone and as you noted really close, but I would do a full flush to be safe if I moved to it based on the history of dexcrap. While I know the chemistry has changed to remove the 2-EHA the horror stories will be forever burned into my mind. Honestly in the CTD if I was gonna switch coolants I'd probably use Command (Meets Cummins spec), Fleetguard (The Cummins coolant), or just stick with the OE crap.

Yup and as it ages that color change changes a little so to speak. Best way to identify it is cold as the purple crap and by watching the color shift once it's aged. I keep a spare gallon around in case I need to change a T-Stat since neither Hemi is running stock and it's not exactly easy to find outside of the dealer. I also like to drain the radiator every couple of years and then top it back up to keep the coolant fresh without subjecting my stuff to a flush machine. Makes sure additive levels are recharged which should hopefully keep the water pump happy and corrosion at bay even though they claim a 10 year coolant life.
